DERMAPLANING

+ What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a mechanical exfoliation. It is sort of like “shaving” your face but with a professional surgical 10 blade scalpel. It removes all the dead skin cells and all the vellus hair, which is the “peach fuzz.” It is great to get because its a very effective exfoliation; it’s beneficial for the absorption of serums/creams applied afterwards as it allows for deeper penetration.

+ What are the benefits?

It enhances the effectiveness of other skin treatments, reduces fine lines, you will feel smoother and application of makeup will be flawless afterwards. It removes peach fuzz and debri.

+ Will my hair grow back thicker?

This is a common myth. The answer is no. Your peach fuzz hair will grow at the same rate and same texture as it did before the treatment. The thickness and darkness of your hair is in your genes and dermaplaning does not change that.

+ Is dermaplaning safe for acne-prone skin?

Dermaplaning is helpful in regards to acne because it helps with the bacteria and oil that is trapped. It’s suitable for most skin type BUT except people with cystic acne or excessive production of sebaceous gland oil. It can stimulate acne breakouts.
